Hello, I'm Ravensfire. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. - Hi Ravensfire... Thank you so much for reaching out to me with your concerns. I would like to let you know that all the changes done by me are not with an advertising point of view. I personally love mythology and I felt that some articles on the wikipedia site could use more information that I found on Mythlok.com. Keeping this in mind, I made minor edits to the articles adding information where necessary like Physical Traits, Powers, Legends etc. On articles where there was too little information or where the information provided was not comprehensive, instead of making major edits, I added Mythlok website as additional reading. As every piece of additional information needs to be provided with a reference, I provided the same.
- Please do guide me on how I can help enhance the existing articles on Wikipedia without coming across as Advertising the Mythlok website. It will be highly apreciated. JumanaMythlok (talk) 02:27, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
Hello JumanaMythlok. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:JumanaMythlok. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=JumanaMythlok|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Adding links to a website you are connected with to drive traffic there is generally considered WP:PAID editing and is generally not something considered acceptable here. - Once again, thank you so much for writing to me and requesting an explanation rather than taking a stringent action against me.
- I would like to state that I am not being directly compensated for my edits on Wikipedia. I am a volunteer researcher and contributor on the Mythlok website and am not financially contributed by the company for my work. I do this purely based on my passion for the subject.
- During my research on some of the topics I researched for Mythlok, I found that the similar articles on Wikipedia also could use with the additional information provided on Mythlok. Understanding that Wikipedia probably has 10 times more traffic in comparison, I decided to make these minor changes on the Wikipedia article so that the readers can benefit as well.
- I have not created any article and mentioned the kinds of changes I have done in my previous response to you.
- It would be great if you could guide me in this regard.

- Don't use wikipedia to promote an unreliable source you're connected with and it's all good. If you continue to add links to that site, you'll probably end up blocked for promotional edits. If other edits, including logged out users, add links to the site, it will probably be blacklisted. Ravensfire (talk) 06:14, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
