February 2023[edit]

Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Japanese raccoon dog. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. You mistook my contribution. Tanuki is a legitimate, celebrated character in the novel, which is devoted to Japanese folklore and history. It's a simple entry, only meant to share the contribution to pop culture about Tanuki. Bluespruell (talk) 16:00, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
For the record, I have just reverted all your additions because they exclusively consisted of promotional spam for your own work. Don't do this or you will be blocked. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 17:16, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please explain to me the difference between the other pop culture references to works of published fiction on these pages and my contribution. It was not meant as promotional spam. The novel celebrates Japanese myths and folklore and the Sengoku period of Japan and received several literary awards and critical praise. I would be glad to provide a hard or digital copy, free of charge, to prove that this work and reference to it is a legitimate contribution to Japanese pop culture. If your work can be proven to have received multiple instances of significant coverage by unrelated reliable sources, and its coverage of these folklore figures in particular has received comment from such sources and is considered important and notable, and someone who is not you (i.e., who does not have a conflict of interest) is willing and able to to add this to the relevant articles, then it would be a suitable addition. In other words, you have about three high-profile newspaper reviews and five years to go. What you have been doing is promotional spam. Don't. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 18:05, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Now that I understand the requirements, I won't. Thank you for taking the time to explain. Bluespruell (talk) 20:00, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I wanted to email you separate thanks and apology but could not find that option. I understand you may not want to receive email. My offer stands, no strings attached, and with the clear understanding that I do not meet article requirements regardless. Here is a free copy of the novel: https://www.amazon.com/kindle/redeem/?t=GS4AU6BNYTRLS5P
