This article is about the sandwich called Barros Jarpa, for the Chilean minister see Ernesto Barros Jarpa.

Barros Jarpa is a popular sandwich that includes ham and melted Cheese. The name was coined in the restaurant of the National Congress of Chile where minister Ernesto Barros Jarpa always asked for this sandwich.

The ministers cousin, president Ramón Barros Luco asked instead for sandwiches with beff and cheese, so these sandwiches started to be called Barros Luco.
