== Inconsistent use of capital letters for "van" ==

Should it be "van Leeuwenhoek" or "Van Leeuwenhoek"? I think it should consistently be spelled "van Leeuwenhoek", but the article is inconsistent. [[User:Bueller 007|Bueller 007]] ([[User talk:Bueller 007|talk]]) 22:27, 28 March 2024 (UTC)

Discovery of microbes

"Using single-lensed microscopes of his own design and make, van Leeuwenhoek was the first to observe and to experiment with microbes, " - From Athanasius Kircher: "Kircher took a notably modern approach to the study of diseases, as early as 1646 using a microscope to investigate the blood of plague victims. In his Scrutinium Pestis of 1658, he noted the presence of "little worms" or "animalcules" in the blood and concluded that the disease was caused by microorganisms." - Eroica (talk) 09:06, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong word—

In the following sentence: "Van Leeuwenhoek has been attributed as the first person to use a histological stain to color specimens observed under the microscope using saffron."

The word "attributed" is improperly used. "Acknowledged" would be more appropriate here. —Or perhaps the wording could be changed to: "The first use of a histological stain (he used saffron) to color specimens under the microscope has been attributed to van Leeuwenhoek." 2001:5B0:270F:3228:3147:99FB:E9E0:82FA (talk) 16:46, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Inconsistent use of capital letters for "van"

Should it be "van Leeuwenhoek" or "Van Leeuwenhoek"? I think it should consistently be spelled "van Leeuwenhoek", but the article is inconsistent. Bueller 007 (talk) 22:27, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
